Guess Who

Family night this week put a smile on the kids' faces.  Made me happy!  I wrote five strengths of each person in the family and hid each one in a balloon.  The kids took turns popping them and had to guess who it was describing.  The person who it was picked up a puzzle piece with their picture on it and by the end we had and 8X10 picture of our family. We talked about how our family wouldn't be the same with each person.  It was part of God's plan to send each of them to our family.  Love those kids!  I'll post a picture, but Isaac's piece is missing, most likely thanks to Daniel.

Today at walmart Daniel tore into everything I put in the cart.  He shucked about four cobs of corn, making a mess of husks and stringy things all over the over food.  He took bites our of all of them.  He also peeled a banana, took bites our of an apple and was tempted to try chicken bullion cubes, maybe thinking they looked too much like chocolate to NOT be chocolate. One bite is all it took. A lady on one of the aisles was getting a kick out of him and was on the phone to her friend describing what this silly litt le boy at the grocery store was doing.  But...he was happpy...yea!

Today right before we left Walmart Daniel asked for a cookie. On the way home I looked in my rearview mirror and saw this. It reminded me of the many times sweet Elizabeth fell asleep eating.

Pre-Terrible Two's

Here is some stuff Daniel has been up to lately. Where is his mother, anyway?

Minty-fresh toilet water.

Dump and stomp.

Testing the nighbor's loaf of banana bread we were going to deliver later that day.

Gingerbread man

Right before Christmas the gingerbread man from Elizabeth's class went missing and people all over the world spotted him. Family members who spotted him sent postcards to Elizabeth's class to tell them what they saw him doing. Here are all of Elizabeth's cards from her cousins and grandparents and aunts and uncles. She Got cards from uncle Mike and Aunt Suzanne cousin Dorothea and aunt Chantel grandma and grandpa Davis cousin Solomon cousin Stewart cousin nikki and second cousins falcon and Wayland.

Father's Day

I didn't finish what I wanted to do for Father's Day (see if I can finish it later and take a pic) but we did enjoy some time with Dad.  He got to take a big fat nap and then interviewed each of the kids on camera.  Look forward to seeing that!  Each of the kids wrote notes /drew pics and then he opened a present from his mom.  She took all of his journals from 1996 to present and had it bound, including a table of contents organized by topic and key words. He doesn't write daily, but when I saw it I thought how "by small things are great things come to pass," since he just does a little here and a little there.  Leah and I put together a video for him, too.  it made me happy that after seeing it he comment on how it helped him see the big picture and feel love for the kids.  Happy Father's Day to my hubby!
